Aqsaqniq Airways is a federally incorporated joint venture company based in Taloyoak, NU. Our ownership group consists of Inuit-owned Aqsaqniq Ltd. and minority partner Air Tindi Ltd., which conducts all flight operations for the partnership.
Aqsaqniq Airways is an Inuit Firm pursuant to Article 24 of the Nunavut Land Claim Agreement, and is also registered under the Government of Nunavut’s Nunavummi Nangminiqaqtunik Ikajuuti (NNI) policy as a Nunavut-based business.
Under the leadership of President Dennis Lyall, Aqsaqniq Airways has been working with Air Tindi since 2008. Since December 2011, this partnership has been the dedicated medevac contractor in the Kitikmeot region. With a team of 15 workers (flight crew and medical professionals with Medic North Nunavut) operating out of our new purpose-built medevac facility in Cambridge Bay, we understand the importance of the service we are providing to the people of the Kitikmeot. We bring a high level of professionalism to every flight so that we can help meet the health care needs of the region. Operational partner Air Tindi has more than 15 years continuous service providing dedicated Air Ambulance flights with over 45,000 hours of accident and harm free flying.
Other clients of Aqsaqniq Airways have included Canadian North, Sabina Gold and Silver, diversified global mining giant Xtrata, Shear Diamonds and various government departments.
